Island is an ongoing series of work from Staten Island that explores the psycho-geography of place, the parameters of nature, and the gestures of public art. This work uses photography to juxtapose nature with the statues and murals of businesses and corporate institutions on Staten Island; as a way to re-examine commemorative gesture in the landscape, who it is for, and what it may represent of New York City's greenest borough.
